I was contacted and asked if I could attend an event in London as the photographer was ill. After a flood of nerves washed over me, I decided that, yes, I would go and do it. So, I packed my iPad and old Canon 400D, jumped on the train, and headed off to London. I arrived at my destination of Piccadilly Circus and soon lost my nerves as I began to document the event.
When I got home, I spent quite some time sorting through photos, compiling a video and uploading them to social media. The video set to Moby’s ‘Memory Gospel’ and ‘Wait For Me ‘ achieved thousands of views, which gave me the courage and determination to press on.
This event ignited my love for protest photography.
