How To Create A Selective Colour Effect

1: Add A Black & White Adjustment Layer
Open your image and click on the adjustment layer icon at the bottom of the Layers panel.
Choose the ‘Black & White’ adjustment layer from the list.
Drag any of the sliders found in the ‘Properties’ panel left or right to darken or lighten your image.
2: Select The Brush Tool
Choose a soft round brush and set your foreground colour to black.
Paint over the inside of the object you would like coloured.
Switch to the white foreground colour if you have gone over the edge of your object to bring back the black background.
Experiment with hard and soft brushes to achieve a perfect separation between your object and background.
