After decades of hearing: “she’s so fragile”, “she’s afraid of change”, and “it’s dangerous”, the tired, old stuck record needs to be changed. The world needs to learn who Toki truly is.
Now is the time to honour and give respect to Toki. She is remarkable in so many ways and an inspiration to us all. Her strength, perseverance, resilience, personality, kindness, and inner spirit are admirable.
She is courageous and has been through so much, the brutal capture, being sent to a tiny tank in Miami, the deaths of Hugo and fellow tank mates, and extreme weather; she has lived through it and survived it all.
She has performed monotonous routines for decades under harsh circumstances. The old video clip is a perfect example to portray the size and depth of her tiny barren tank. It is incredible how she has survived, but she has maintained her energy and is involved and responsive in everything around her.
She knows, she understands, and she feels
