Emma Davies Photo School – April 2022 Project
I have a few ongoing mini-projects, but as I document the area where I live, themes are starting to develop and come together, such as structures found on the sea wall.
Working as a web / graphic designer and for animal advocacy keeps me chained to my computer and recently I have become very aware of my sedentary lifestyle. Changes need to be made so that a happy balance can be found.
So here I am, walking and taking photos every day, come wind, rain or shine.
Taking part in the Essex Wildlife Trust BioBlitz, and helping to map the effects of climate change on flowering plants across the county is also a much-welcomed find. The act of collecting photographic data helps me to notice the beauty around me. So far, it has been great fun seeking out wildflowers on my walks, plus I am learning something new, which is always a good thing.
Presently, I am combining the two projects and using an app to log my travels and findings; I aim to cover my map with little red trails.
It’s developing into one big adventure, my little treasure hunt.
