I was honoured to have been asked by The Stolen Lives Project to design a large banner for the 47th  anniversary of the Penn Cove Orca Captures held at Palace Entertainment Headquarters, California. It is always an emotional feeling to know that a small piece of me was present on this important day. Our Until Lolita is Home posters were also used at the event.

On August 8, 2017,  7,941 letters were delivered to the headquarters of Palace Entertainment asking that Lolita be retired back to where she was captured. Peggy Oki was also joined by Matt Sorum (Guns N’ Roses, Velvet Revolver, The Cult) and a compassionate group of people who want to see Lolita returned to her rightful home.

Lolita’s presumed mother, Ocean Sun, still resides in the waters of the Pacific Northwest. To this day Lolita uses calls that match those of Ocean Sun’s pod, though she hasn’t seen another Orca in over thirty years. Experts believe that they have all the tools necessary to facilitate Lolita’s transition from captivity back to the wild. The goal is to reunite Lolita with her pod, but Palace Entertainment and Parques Reunidos refuse to acknowledge the brutal realities of Lolita’s life. The companies that own the Miami Seaquarium have not agreed to release Lolita from her imprisonment.
