In 2025, a world of constant change, conflict, and uncertainty made simply witnessing life a demanding experience. Many of us turned to art not just to document, but as a language for fear, grief, and hope, and as a way to act, speak, or simply breathe.
My 2025 creative journey was filled with learning and meaningful exploration.
My work travelled farther than I did: Times Square, a guitar-shaped hotel in Florida, a boat in Miami, a giant screen in Atlanta, a forum in São Paulo, Spain, and Tokyo were among the highlights.
Building on these experiences, the year brought moments that truly touched my heart. My advocacy work was published, my battery hen artwork was recognized with AIMA and I received a Pika award for the ‘Most Emotional Video’ about captivity. I’m deeply grateful for the chance to share their stories.
One important milestone: on October 12, after more than a decade of campaigning, Miami Seaquarium closed its doors as we knew it. Good riddance!
”Through images, I could give shape to what felt uncontainable . . . transforming it into a conduit for healing.
